Emin Alper (Economics '99) who directed and wrote the screenplay, "Kurak Günler" won 9 awards at the Antalya Altın Portakal Film Festival.

Emin Alper, who received his BA in Economics from Boğaziçi University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences in 1999, and then, in 2003 and 2009, a Master's degree and a Ph.D. from Atatürk's Principles and Revolution History Institute, respectively, in the History of the Republic of Turkey. With the feature film "Kurak Günler", which he directed and wrote the screenplay, he was deemed worthy of 9 awards by the jury which were "Best Actor", "Best Director", "Best Supporting Actor", "Best Music", "Best Editing", including "Best Cinematography”, “Cahide Sonku Award”, “SİYAD Best Film” and “Film-Yön Best Director” awards.
